We have an old VFR, which hasn't been as loved as she should have been in her life. Nick has been fabulous and patient whilst dealing with me and my niggles with the bike. I could not recommend him highly enough on both mechanics and female friendly!!!
Couldn't be happier with the work carried out on my bike. Nick is a great guy knows what he is doing. Would 100% recommend the engine room to everyone. Won't be going anywhere else from now on thanks nick

I have a Honda that had carb issues and has not run properly for some time despite being looked at by two other companies. Nick took it on, fully stripped and cleaned the carbs and fitted two new Jets which were the wrong size. The bcarbs were then setup correctly and the bike is transformed! Nick also undertook other work and his attention to detail cannot be faulted. He is a clearly someone who lives and breathes motorcycles but this is backed up by a depth of knowledge, talent and an eye for detail and getting it right. Very refreshing in this modern age. Highly recommended and will get Nick to work on my other bikes as and when required.
I was a long term (23years) member of the FJ/FJR Owners Club and looking for a mechanic/workshop with as good,if not better,knowledge of motorcycles.
I moved to Barbican, Plymouth last year and have now found The Engine Room so I'm more than happy to trust all my future servicing,tyres etc for my FJR 1300 to them.
Cheaper rates than the old Club,and much pleasanter staff too!
Having recently moved back to Devon I was looking for a local Bike Shop who would care for my Moto Guzzi and my Honda (and all my future bikes!). By chance and good luck I was directed to 'The Engine Room'. Nick runs the business has been super helpful from the first point I met him. Nick has been as enthusiastic about my slightly eccentric bikes as I am. My Guzzi had a hard to diagnose intermittent electrical fault plus a host of other issues. Nick has sorted the lot at good price and put up with my phone calls every day! If you want your bike looked after by an individual who genuinely cares then I strongly recommend you give Nick a call.
Think I've just found my new bike mechanic. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Extremely meticulous and professional. He's the man if you want to be treated as a person not a number. Very happy. Recommend. I'll be going back for sure.

nick really does know his stuff and keeps you informed with whats going on with your bike , did a amazing job on rebuilding and setting up the complex awkward carbs on my 1986 V4 honda , will defo use again top work .

Nick is a top class mechanic who I trust absolutely with my bike. Her has an eye for detail and always gives a no nonsense overview of a job. He is professional reliable and has a passion for motorbikes.
